Rael Chebichi is a dedicated advocate for community development, social justice, and environmental sustainability, currently serving as a Commissioner of the Nairobi Rivers Commission. Her career blends grassroots activism with strategic leadership in government and civil society, focusing on empowering marginalized communities and fostering sustainable urban development.

As a Commissioner, Rael champions the restoration and protection of Nairobi's river systems, recognizing their vital role in biodiversity and sustainable urban growth. Her extensive experience in public engagement and program implementation enables her to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve the Commission's goals.

She previously served as Director and Chairperson of the Technical Committee at the Water Resources Authority, where she gained valuable expertise in water resource management and policy execution. Rael's impactful work with the First Lady's offices in Uasin Gishu and West Pokot counties highlighted her ability to design and implement programs addressing critical social issues.

Her commitment to social justice is evident in her work with organizations such as Sikika CBO and Empower Hope Africa, where she addressed gender-based violence, child rights and youth empowerment.

Academically, Rael is pursuing a PhD in Development Studies, with a focus on Gender and Development in Daystar University and holds a Master of Arts in Governance and Ethics, a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, and a Diploma in Social Work and Community Development, all from Mount Kenya University. Her blend of academic knowledge and practical experience makes her a highly effective advocate for sustainable development.
