Hon. Bishop Margaret Wanjiru is the current Chairperson of the Nairobi Rivers Commission.

She is the Founder and Apostolic Bishop of the Jesus Is Alive Ministries (JIAM), an international Christian organization with headquarters in Nairobi Kenya and with branches in various parts of Kenya, Africa, Australia, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Former Member of Parliament for Starehe Constituency in Nairobi County and an Assistant Minister for the Ministry of Housing (2007 -2013). 

From her many years of experience, she possesses a unique blend of leadership, good governance and management qualities that drive success, inspire teams and create lasting impact. 

Her leadership has transformed many lives by providing access to education, skills training and socio-economic development fostering self-reliance and sustainable growth. 

She is a single mother of 3 children, 7 grand-children and a born again believer of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
